A study published in the Journal of Medical Science and Exercise found that the benefits of exercise occur with the activity it takes to burn 1000 calories per week. (www.sixwise.com) The study concluded that by burning those 1000 calories per week, you can reduce your risk of dying by 20 to 30 percent.

Rates of heart attacks and strokes has been proven to go up significantly within just one hour of finishing one of those yummy, high calorie, high fat, holiday meals.

Here are some examples kind of exercise is necessary to burn those 1000 calories per week:
  • 5 days of walking at 2 mph, 3 days of walking at 3.4 mph
  • 3 days of Water Aerobics for 1 hour
  • 3 days of bicycling for 1 hour at 10 mph
  • 5 hours of bowling
  • 2 hours of hiking
  • 2 hours of swimming laps
